Progress Report for the month of November, 2014.
1.     More than 95% construction work of the Information Plaza at Patto-Panaji has been completed. 80% work of Multilevel Car Parking Plaza has been completed, 80% work of upgradation/renovation of Tourism Jetty has been completed & river cruise is being operated in the completed portion of the Jetty. 60% work of Baga Coastal Circuit development is completed. The work of Calangute – Candolim Circuit is in progress. The work of construction of Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology has begun.K.P.M.G. Services Pvt. Ltd. consortium with Tourism & Leisure Spain have been appointed for the preparation of Tourism Master Plan & Tourism Policy of Goa.
 
2.     Government has administratively approved & financially sanctioned towards the work of replacement/repair of façade illumination provided to Shree Purushmharu Temple, Shree Marutigad, Shree Sateri Temple –Curchorem, Sao Jacinto Church at St. Jacinto Island, Zuvar – Goa and repairs towards High Mast Light unit installed at Naga- Masjid Ponda, Shiroda, Tisk Ponda, Upper Bazar Ponda & Tisk Usgaon.  
 
3.     Government has administratively approved the work of providing LED illumination to Shree Shankar Devasthan, Shankarwadi, Taleigao – Goa.
 
4.     The work of development, deployment, management, and operation of Water Safety Patrol almost throughout the coastline with State of Art facilities in the coastal waters of the State of Goa on turn key basis is in operation through M/s Drishti Lifesaving Pvt. Ltd, Donapaula.
 
5.     Patrolling on the beaches is being carried out by the IRB Police personnel deployed on the beaches of Goa.
 
6.     Beach Cleaning:Work Order has been issued to M/s Bhumika Transport led Consortium and M/s Ram on the beaches of Goa” for North Goa and South Goa, respectively, w.e.f. 1/9/2014. Engineering led Consortium for carrying out the work of “Comprehensive Management of Cleanliness. A committee of Information Assistants has been constituted to carry out the random inspection of the beach stretches to observe and report the activities being carried out on the entire beach stretches of the state of Goa. 
 
This Department has also formed two separate Departmental Committee of North and South Zone Office to have random inspections and observe the performance of Beach Cleaning Contractors of the concerned zone.
 
7.   River Princess:
A meeting of the Monitoring Committee meeting under the Chairmanship of Pr. Secretary (Tourism) was held on 25/09/2014 to discuss various issues regarding the removal of the vessel of M.V. “River Princess” wherein following points were discussed and decision were taken by the Committee:
 
a)   Underwater survey i.e. Bathymetry, Side Scan Sonar, Sub-bottom Profiling, Scuba Diving at Candolim – Sinquerim at River Princess site is carried out by NIO on 7-11 November 2014 on receipt of completion letter from the contractor M/s Arihant Ship Breakers, Mumbai. Report of the same is awaited from NIO. 
 
b)  A letter has been issued to the Contractor requesting to renew the Bank Guarantee upto March 2015.
 
c)   As per the report submitted by M/s Goa Shipyard Limited the total scrap transported from Candolim to the Yard as per Load Cell reading is 1402.5M.T as on 6/11/2014.
 
Demarcation of the shack on the North and South Goa beaches for the touristic season 2014-15 is completed. Issuing of Shack license to the successful shack applicants is in process.
 
8.     As part of promotion in domestic and international market, Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. as Special Purpose Vehicle has participated in Tripurari Pournima – Vithalapur – Sankhali, India travel Mart 2014 – Jaipur, 34th IITF at Pragati Maidan - New Delhi, International Film Festival of India 2014, Branding at Goa Airport Dabolim for IFFI 2014, Welcome Programme for Tourists coming in Cruise ships arriving at M.P.T. - Vasco, Advertisement campaign in Sapthahik Sakal - Goa Issue and International Jazz Festival 2014 respectively.                         
 
9.        The Department has carried out the following trade activities:
