Mr. Pramod B. Badami promoted as Chief Engineer: deputed to SPV Cell, GTDC

Panjim, 15 September: Mr. Pramod B Badami has been appointed on deputation as Chief Engineer SPV Cell of Goa Tourism Development Corporation with effect from 14th September 2016. Mr. Pramod B. Badami will be overseeing the corporation’s role in conceptualizing, implementing and maintenance of Tourism Infrastructure and Development Projects of the Corporation.
 
He was earlier working as Executive Engineer of SPV Cell of GTDC. He has successfully implemented some of the prominent projects like Paryatan Bhavan, Multi‐level car parking, Panjim Jetty, Beautification of Mayem Lake, Saligao Circle, Baga Parking lot, Panjim Residency etc.
 
Mr. Pramod B. Badami is a qualified Civil Engineer having graduated as Bachelor in Civil Engineering from University of Mysore. He started his career in Government of Goa as a Technical Assistant in the year 1984 in the Irrigation Department now known as Water Resource Department. He has vast experience of Implementing Irrigation and Water Development Projects of the State. During his 30 years tenure, he has served at various positions as Assistant Engineer and Executive Engineer. He has also Implemented exclusive and innovative work of restoration of Raj Bhavan Hill Slops,  Raw water supply schemes at Sal and Ganjem, Several Lift Irrigation Schemes, Bandharas, Barrages in Sattari, Bicholim and Pernem Taluka for the overall development of irrigation and drinking water supply in the village areas. He has also carried out innovative work of Anti-sea erosion control work at Keri Pernem, Anjuna and exemplary work of flood control protecting the towns of Sanquelim and Bicholim.
 
 Mr. Pramod B. Badami said on the appointment “As far as the state is concerned, tourism is the major industry of the state in employment of youth in organized and non-organized sector and also a major source of income. It is our endeavor to work in a direction to flourish and boost the tourism industry and to provide best of the infrastructure facilities to attract more and more tourist and benefit the state which will enhance various job opportunities. GTDC will be focusing on the development of hinterlands and cruise Tourism. The project cell will concentrate on hinterland areas and inland waterways for the development of hinterland and cruise tourism. GTDC will continue to strive hard to provide basic facilities like Wi‐Fi Hot spots, Tourist information centers, parking facilities, illumination of tourist locations etc to bestow the state with high‐end infrastructure”.
