Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar bags Best Tourism Minister PATWA International Award


Panjim, March 14:  Hon’ble Minister for  Tourism, Govt. of Goa, Mr. Dilip Parulekar has  been conferred with  top honours from PATWA as the  Best Tourism Minister for the  second  consecutive year.
The  Director   for  Tourism, Govt. of  Goa  Mr. Sanjeev C. Gauns  Dessai  received   the  award on behalf of  Mr. Parulekar who is  currently ailing and was unable to attend the  function at the  ITB  in Berlin.
The  Department   of  Tourism, Govt. of  Goa issued  a  statement   on behalf  of  Mr. Parulekar  saying, “The  Hon’ble  Minister for  Tourism  is  extremely  delighted and honoured  on receiving   this  prestigious  award. Though he was unable to receive the award personally,  Mr.  Parulekar  has  expressed  deep  satisfaction  on being recognized  yet again for the hard work that has  been put in  by  Goa Tourism led  by him and the  work done round the clock by his  team of  officials in planning, and executing  policies, projects,  initiatives and  more.  The  Department  of  Tourism  further adds  that  during the last  four years, Mr. Parulekar introduced a lot of  new initiatives and new infrastructure projects due to  which Goa has  become  an attractive  place for tourists  not  only  from India but also  from across the globe. The statement says that Mr. Parulekar has assured to continue with the good work being done and will ensure that the flag of Goa Tourism  continues to fly  high.”
The  Goa  delegation which attended  the  function  at ITB Berlin  included Mr. Rajesh Kale, Deputy Director  of  Tourism,  and Mr. Deepak Narvekar, PRO – Goa  Tourism  Development  Corporation. The award was presented by Dr. Taleb  Rifai – United Nations World Tourism Organization General  Secretary.  Also present was Mr Vinod Zutshi, Secretary, Secretary of  Tourism, Govt. of  India.
