Minister for Tourism, Govt of Goa, Mr. Manohar Azgaonkar gives up red beacon on his car

Panjim, 19 April: Minutes after the Union Cabinet decision emerged to apply the brakes on the red beacon culture in the country with effect from 1st May 2017,  Minister for Tourism, Govt. of Goa, Mr. Manohar Azgaonkar announced his decision to give up the red beacon with immediate effect.
 
Mr. Azgaonkar who is the Minister 
for Tourism and Sports said on Wednesday, through his Tweeter and  Facebook accounts, ‘I have decided to do away with the red beacon on my vehicle with immediate effect.’
 
The Minister for Tourism said that he welcomes the decision of the Union Cabinet to do away with red beacons atop official cars. Mr. Azgaonkar further said, “I would want to be recognized not by the red beacon but by the work done by me for the State of Goa. It is my endeavor to give the State tourism and sports ministry a new dimension. A true leader is one who is recognized for his work at the grassroots and accessibility to his people.”
