Ecotourism Society of India, Goa Chapter launched

23: The Ecotourism Society of India, Goa Chapter was launched during a two day eco- tourism workshop in Goa. The workshop was organized by the ESOI in association with Goa Tourism and the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa. Several eminent ecologists, environmentalists and experts from the tourism industry deliberated on various issues concerning eco-tourism in Goa. The workshop aimed at focusing on eco-tourism with the agenda of promoting sustainable tourism criteria’s with local community involvement in the initiative towards making India a sustainable and responsible tourism destination.
 
The Managing Director of GTDC, Mr. Nikhil Desai spoke on the action plan for Sustainable Tourism in Goa while several other eminent personalities shared their views on the topic. Mr. Ravi Singh, Secretary
General and CEO of WWF, India and Mr. Steve Borgia, Hon. President of the Eco-tourism Society of India were also present.
