Goa Tourism Development Corporation organises soft skill training programme for tourists taxi operators at Vasco
 

 
Panjim, Jan 25
Goa Tourism Development Corporation organised a soft skill training programme for the Tourists Taxi Operators at Vasco Residency today.
 
The training session was conducted after getting feedback during a meeting convened at GTDC recently in the presence of the Tourism Minister, Chairman GTDC, MPT Tourist Taxi Association and Tourism stakeholders.
 
The training session was presented by Mr.Sanjeev Sardessai, renowned historian, to give the taxi operators an insight into Goa's history and its importance. He also briefed all the participants on Goa's journey earlier and now.
 
The session also emphasized upon training on how to deal and understand the needs of its customers.
 
Mr. Pravin Sabnis, Professional Trainer also explained and gave the participants a presentation on soft skills. He motivated the drivers by giving various examples and demonstrations.
 
Motor Vehicle Inspector of Transport Dept, Vasco, Mr. Ja De Sa gave a session on traffic rules and regulations to follow in the city.
 
Mr.Deepak Narvekar, PRO, GTDC welcomed the guest speakers and highlighted the objective of the training. Mr. Gavin Dias, General Manager, GTDC explained the Corporation's role in sensitizing the taxi drivers and the role of a taxi driver in the tourism industry.
 
A written test was also conducted and certificates were given to those who cleared the test.
 
The session was conducted in the presence of Mr. Sanjay Kanojia, President , MPT Tourist Taxi Association, Mr.Govind Nagvekar, Vice President, MPT, Tourist Taxi Association, Mr. Gavin Dias, GM, GTDC, Mr. Deepak Narvekar, Senior Manager and PRO, GTDC, Mr. Francis Pereira, Manager, Vasco Residency and Mr. Prasad Kavlekar, Asst. Manager- Marketing, GTDC.
 
The session received an overwhelming support and co-operation from all those who attended the session.
