Panjim: The luxurious 'Sea Dream Yacht Club' arrived at Mormugao Port at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 28, 2013, carrying around 125 passengers. The ship sailed in from Athens in Greece to Mumbai and then to Goa. The yacht is now headed to Kochi followed by Singapore and other Asian destinations.

A traditional welcome reception with Goan music was organized by Goa Tourism, Government of Goa to greet the passengers.  Various Goan folk performances like Ghode Modni, Qurudin, Carnaval dance, etc. were performed. The guests were thrilled to witness these colourful cultural performances and some of them even joined the dancers to sway to the catchy tunes.

Mr. Sudesh Kishore, president, Sea Dream Yacht Club, India said, “For the first time Sea Dream has chosen Goa as a part of its itinerary, this is due to a popular vote that was cast in favour of this state by members of the club.”

Since this is the first time that this yacht is docking at Goa, the Tourism Department wanted to ensure that the guests get a feel of the state during their stay here.

The Mormugao Port is scheduled to welcome around 30 cruise liners between October 2013 and April 2014.
